Dr. Gauthier Blanckaert obtained his medical degree from KU Leuven and subsequently specialized in ophthalmology through training at UZ Leuven, AZ Delta, and AZ Groeninge. He completed additional training in cataract surgery, refractive surgery, and eyelid surgery, while actively participating in numerous national and international ophthalmology congresses.
Alongside his clinical work, he is actively involved in scientific research and publications in the fields of retina, cataract, and vitreoretinal surgery. In 2023, he achieved an outstanding result in the European Board of Ophthalmology Exam, ranking 3rd in Belgium and 53rd in Europe.
