We take your privacy seriously. We process the personal data obtained in accordance with the provisions of professional secrecy, the Law of 8 December 1992 on the protection of privacy in relation to the processing of personal data and all subsequent amendments and additions, as well as the General Data Protection Regulation (also known as GDPR) of 27 April 2016.

2. Definitions

Personal data: Any information relating to an identified or identifiable living natural person. Website: The websites hosted under oogcentrumbrugge.be
User: Any natural person who makes interactive or non-interactive use of the website.
Interactive use: Any use of the website during which you actively enter personal data on the website, whether or not via an electronic form completed by you.
Non-interactive use: Any use that cannot be considered interactive so, for example, simply browsing the website.

5. Which personal data are processed

If you simply take a look at our website, no personal data are processed. However, if you interact with the website (subscribe to newsletters, fill in the contact form, leave a comment, write a review, etc.), the data you enter will be processed by us. More specifically, this includes your name, first name, address, telephone and e-mail address.

By communicating your personal data, you unconditionally agree to the processing of your personal data.

6. Purposes and basis of processing

The responsible party processes personal data obtained through the website for one of the following purposes: 

  • execution of order supported on concluded agreement
  • newsletters, advertising….. based on explicit consent
  • website optimisation supported by data collected via cookies

7. Recipients or categories of recipients of the data

Personal data processed may be communicated to the following recipients depending on the purposes of the processing: 

  • the user
  • the case handlers within our company

The personal data processed are not communicated to third parties, except if this would be necessary for website and marketing purposes, as well as for the performance of our mission, a legal obligation, a legitimate interest, a vital interest, …

In the aforementioned cases, certain personal data may be exchanged with the following non-exhaustive categories of recipients: 

  • Our doctors and staff

Sometimes we also need to make use of certain (technical) services, ranging from web hosting, organisation of mailing campaigns, use of specific software, cloud computing, ICT support, etc., as a result of which there is a possibility of third parties gaining access to your personal data. However, to safeguard your rights, we have drawn up separate processing agreements with each of these service providers.

In principle, personal data are not passed on to third parties outside the European Economic Area. If personal data would be transferred, we would only do so to countries offering an equivalent level of data protection.

8. Retention period of processed data

We do not process more data than necessary for the realisation of the various purposes listed in Article 6 of this privacy statement.

Data are always kept.
The reason for this retention period is follow-up of the patient’s file.

9. Your rights

You, as a user of our website:

  1. the right to access and obtain additional information about one’s own data
  2. the right to request the data processed about you in comprehensible form free of charge
  3. the right to rectification (free of charge) of incorrectly or incompletely processed data
  4. the right to erasure of data. Unless this is not possible for legal reasons (e.g. invoicing, identification obligation, etc.)

  6. the right to restriction of processing
  7. the right to transferability of the data
  8. the right to withdraw your consent to the processing of data.


If you wish to exercise one or more of your rights, you must contact us in one of the ways stipulated in article 1 of this privacy statement. We will respond within a period of one week.

10. Automated decision-making

In principle, we do not make decisions if the decision-making is done in an automatic manner in which a certain computer programme or technical gadget arrives at a certain decision. If this should happen, no binding agreement can arise from this without the explicit approval of the user.

We have taken the necessary measures to protect your personal data against possible data leaks, misuse by third parties edm. namely by protection on the websites by means of SSL certificates, security via firewalls, restriction of the locations where data is stored,…..
